Delaware Valley Ballet Theater (DVBT) is KPBA’s regional ballet company. It consists of students of outstanding potential and prepares these dancers to enter University Dance Programs or Professional Ballet Companies. Through annual performances, DVBT brings the excitement of close contact with a regional ballet company to KPBA students and audiences throughout the Delaware Valley.
The Company
The dancers (starting as Apprentices from ages 10 and up) are selected by Artistic Director, Kristina Pulcini. Dancers must train in KPBA’s program prior to joining DVBT.
Training
Under the leadership of DVBT Artistic Director Kristina Pulcini and Artistic Staff, DVBT Company Dancers study and perform at the university or professional level, participating in an extensive schedule of classes, rehearsals and annual performances alongside KPBA students. Ballet technique classes are supplemented by occasional Character, Pilates and Modern classes. DVBT Company Dancers also have the opportunity to work with local Professional Dancers and Choreographers.
Costumes
DVBT has a professional costume maker who designs exquisite tutus custom-made for our ballerinas.
Performances
DVBT currently performs twice annually in full length productions that mirror the classical repertoire of major ballet companies. As the company grows, our goal is to add performances that showcase the varied repertoire of new and established contemporary choreographers.
